3 Degrees Church
3 Degrees is a multi-level facility located in the heart of the historic warehouse district in Downtown Minneapolis. The lower level lounge and café is where you will find Dunn Bros. coffee and fresh baked rolls every Sunday morning at 10:00am. Lunches after church and small meetings, prayer groups and Bible Studies, also meet in the lounge, our version of a “fellowship hall”. The services are held on the main level where you will also find our bookstore. It may be small, the bookstore is packed with a great variety of Bibles and books to help you grow in your Christian faith. The VIP room in the balcony overlooks the stage and is available for moms and their babies. The room is equipped with a t.v. to view the service. Restrooms are available in the lounge or balcony.
The Congregation:
The growing congregation at 3 Degrees is diverse and unique in several ways. About 80 percent of the congregation did not originally grow up in the Twin Cities, and several members of the congregation are from other countries: Canada , Ethiopia , Europe, Indonesia and India. In addition, a study done recently by a group of college students revealed that there is at least one person attending 3 Degrees from every zip code in the entire metro area, including outlying suburbs like Shakopee, Maple Lake, Albertville, Lino Lakes, Woodbury and Cottage Grove (something their professor had never seen in all his years of teaching)! About 40% of the congregation lives within the city limits and many take the light rail or the bus.
The congregation is evenly split between single adults and married couples. The age range is equally as diverse as the zip codes in which people live, from college students and young families to several empty nesters. Sunday lunches after church (3 times per month) have become a congregation favorite and has been a great way for people to connect and get to know each other.
The Messages:
While Pastor Steve’s style is practical and down to earth, he believes strongly in presenting the whole range of the Gospel Message. The many scriptures in every sermon are displayed on the big screen for everyone to see and follow along with as he desires people to know God and His Word for themselves. He often uses home-made props to illustrate his points and has been known to launch into choruses of 70’s music on occasion.
A student of the Bible for over 30 years, Pastor Steve loves digging out the nuggets of truth found in scripture. He has also studied Bible Prophecy for as many years and comments on current events regularly.
The Music:
The worship team at 3 Degrees LOVES to praise God. Their goal is to help people enjoy the freedom of praising God through music and entering into God’s presence with worship. The music style is a little bit of everything from Israel Houghton to Chris Tomlin to United Hillsongs. There is a freedom from Pastors Steve and Nancy to follow after the Spirit of God in the music and often there are spontaneous aspects of ministry within the worship time. 3 Degrees is blessed to have many professional musicians who serve on the worship team.
The Mom and babies:
3 Degrees does not have a separate nursery for babies at this time. The mom’s and babies use the V.I.P. room on the balcony level that overlooks the stage. It has comfortable seating and a t.v. to watch the service. They generally head upstairs together after Praise and Worship. An usher or greeter would be happy to show you the room prior to the service.
